2 Hamster Miles

July 8, 2004

Quick hit at Gold’s Gym this morning. Did strength training, more abs and core, and then 2 fast miles on the treadmill. I did 7 and 8 MPH stuff, and really just burned it through. Finally, I jumped in the pool for 20 minutes of swimming to give my muscles a good stretch, and to really relieve some of the general tension. Swimming’s kind of like biking is to lots of you. It’s my “free” experience, where I can just go and do my thing for a while and not feel competitive or as if I’m in training.

So, good quick hit on all fronts.

I’m glad to hear you are working on your recovery, too. Your schedule sounds so aggressive, but it obviously works for you. How lucky to have a pool in your gym. I hear my new gym will have one, and I’m looking forward to it.

Swimming is an excellent way to soothe sore muscles. It’s a good way for me to relieve shoulder tension(from too much computer).

Should we start worrying? Maybe you just needed a REALLY long rest.

Maybe on vacation? In jail? Trapped under something heavy?

I got a note a few days ago from Chris saying he was going to Labrador for a week. Not to fret folks - he’ll be back! :)

He’s spending the week with a dog????? What’s that about?

I sent him an email a couple of days ago, telling him we were worried. :)
