2011 Business Book Club

I’m thinking of starting a business book club for 2011. If you subscribe to my free newsletter, you are invited to participate. The idea is simple: instead of just reading books, what if we experimented with some of the business suggestions in the books, and then report back to each other? I recommend five books in this video, but it’s up to subscribers to the newsletter to vote in their needs and wants.

So, subscribe to the newsletter, and I’ll ask you to vote in the books you want in the next issue of the newsletter. Good?

I’m in! I know the books you recommended here will be helpful in one way or another. The Branson book is already on my list.

    Perfect idea, of course, Chris.

You do such a good job of making the newsletter feel like it’s a personal note from you to me. And I think it might be the same with this book club, “our little group” you say. But I’m curious, how many people are involved really?

No matter, I’m sure it’ll be great.

I’d recommend The Mesh by Lisa Gansky because of its take on the new and growing business model of sharing.

The idea of being in a group with other people who read business books is very appealing. As it is I always feel a bit sheepish when friends ask “So what have you been reading” since most expect the answer to be some current work of fiction. It would be fun to talk about business books with other interested kindred spirits. Count me in and thanks for the invite.

Using Sam’s “Brewing Up a Business” is a great choice as a substitute for Book #1. I look forward to discussing it with the group. Perhaps we can circle back around to “Business Stripped Bare” when / if it’s back in print – or people want to grab copies from their local libraries.
