(I titled it that for my friend, Jon from High School.)
Tonight, I went out and bought a suit, and a sports coat, and some stuff to mix and match with the above, and shoes, and belts to go with the shoes.
I *loathe* dressy clothes, and yet, I had a few reasons to need them. I’ve got a party Monday night that might require at least a little taste of schmancy, and then I’ve got an awards show on Nov 4th that will require even more tidy duds. So, to me, it’s more like armor than anything else, or camoflague. But, I got them, and I’ll wear them, and that’s that.
But, I will say, it was a good experience. The person who helped me pick everything out and get it all put together was really fun to work with, and it turns out, she’s a professional image consultant who works this particular clothing store gig for some extra bucks. I told her that I needed a business card for when I want to eventually upgrade anything or add another shirt or something. (I couldn’t find me a matching sock, let alone what this woman put together for me).
Kat was oooh-lah-lah about it. She liked the overcoat.
All part of the fun.
I have to say this: I’ve NEVER had this much fun and had it still be considered a job. Thanks, Jeff.
