Alltop Launches Version Two

September 19, 2008 · 18 comments

alltop I’m a big fan of Alltop. If you’re looking for great new reading material, besides my Rockstars page, I’d REALLY recommend Alltop. It’s the new magazine rack for the Internet. I love that it’s so easy to use. I love that you can find lots of great niches topics there. autism.alltop.com , dads.alltop.com, that kind of stuff.

If you’re in marketing and PR and you need to reach someone in a specific community, you could find the folks you need to reach at Alltop. It’s not just for fun. It’s a tool you should be using. Looking to start new content for a niche? Pay attention to who else Alltop has already found for you.

Congrats to Guy Kawasaki and the team.

I like alltop as well, although it didn’t find any monsters for me. Keep trying, Guy!

Hi Chris,

Good summary of the new Alltop, thanks!

I like the new starting page, it now is easier to browse through subjects (using the ‘Discover Topics’ main entries).

Alltop is a great way for finding blogs, especially for people who are not yet so familiar with Social Media tools (e.g. with RSS feed readers). Therefore I recommend Alltop.com to others.

Thanks for this info. I doubt I ever would have went back to Alltop. I used it from the first couple of weeks until they got rid of the topics and I couldn’t find anything. Looks much better and the UI is back on track.

I looked it over but was disappointed that the only topics for writers focussed specifically on poetry and screenwriting. Anything for novelists and short story writers?

Thanks for the update on this Chris. Might not have known about it otherwise. I find the homepage design to be much easier to navigate now. I’m also loving the hide buttons for the various sources. Alltop feels more like a dashboard now with this new redesign. I feel like it could replace Google Reader or be used in conjunction with my feed reader now.

Thanks for the review Chris. Played around with Alltop before, but now looking at it again, I feel like to need to devote more time to it.

I love version 2, but i hope they fix the bugs - I got dumped from the nonprofit and social media lists .. sniff sniff

11 Beth Kanter 09.21.08 at 7:40 pm

ah, they fixed the bug - sort of - I’m not back on the list - but of instead of being at the top of the alltop nonprofit, I’m last on the list! Is Guy trying to tell me something?

Funny I should see this today… my personal blog was nominated for Alltop by one of my wonderful readers. I was most honoured.
