Another Reason to Use Premium WordPress Themes

premium wordpress themes

There’s a reason I promote premium WordPress themes a lot. One is that they make doing my job a lot better.

I was just promoting my friend Chris Garrett’s great ebook on guest posts. I’m an affiliate for it. So, I have a link that sends people to buy the product, and as a result, I get some money from the transaction. Only, I made a mistake. I had put in the wrong information for the affiliate code.

But here’s where it gets good.

Because I used the “redirect” feature in WordPress, things were really simple to fix. I just went in and fixed the problem with just one edit.

Now, this feature, redirects, is part of WordPress 3, so don’t let me give you the wrong idea. However, what makes a premium theme like Genesis (affiliate link) so worth it is that everything is clean and available and simple to fix.

I’m trying out more premium themes over 2011, but am so far pretty happy with the ones I’ve purchased and am using for various projects. Speaking of that, you’ll see a wild use of a new theme shortly in a subsequent post.

I give a LOT of credit to a popular premium theme for helping me achieve a “working knowledge” of PHP and WordPress functions. Sure, I would have eventually learned much of this on my own, but the support infrastructure that is built-up around some of these themes (or “frameworks”) is invaluable for people wanting to learn more about WordPress and what makes it tick.

Topics such as paper, to be honest, do not look anything special box. Sure, promote change, but the reason someone bought the theme is not comfortable editing or make your own.

I didn’t know about this feature. I have been using Ninja Affiliate plugin for wordpress. That’s a cloaker with stats, so it’s probably (I hope) a little more advanced than the redirect feature (and I’m using Thesis).

Really? Redirects is a feature of WP3? I had no idea – I have all my redirects set up as a script in the pages! Heading off to check that one out…

And Genesis is on my shortlist when I next do an upgrade – I’m using one of the older StudioPress themes and love it.

I use premium themes when starting out every site I create (and I have quite a few). They are much less expensive than a custom theme (by about $1400 or more depending), look great, have a ton of built-in functionality, and are supported and updated. Definitely the only way to go before you can purchase a custom job.

I’ve premium themes as I started creating my blog page. But it would be a good deal if you use cheaper themes.
