Are you a joiner? I am. I LOVE trying out new web technologies. I used to really love new computer-side apps, too, but I’m finding more and more fun things to mess around with on the web. Most of it is social software, and I’d really love to invite you into some of the experiences.
Every one of these is free to join. Occasionally, there’s an option to pay for better/more services. I’m inviting you to join and connect up with me on some of these services. I’ll show you my username so that you can share with me through these systems.
Take a browse:

Flickr is a photo posting/sharing site. I like it because it’s turned me back on to visual art, to looking through the lens of a camera, and to find a place to post my photos and digital paintings and sketches.

LinkedIN is a site for connecting with business colleagues. I’m not sure of all its uses. I imagine some folks are using it for job hunting. I’m more a fan of job fishing. Cast out lots of nets, get to know lots of people, and if you’re in need, check your nets to see what you get.

del.icio.us
del.icio.us is a social bookmarking site. It’s much more useful than a web browser, in that you can get your bookmarks ANYWHERE. Also, you can tag them with multiple words to remember what you saved. You can also share your bookmarks with others, using the “FOR” command.

Technorati is a search site that looks at what’s being said on blogs. I love it, and use it more than google these days when I want to know about something new. I’m trusting blogs more than mainstream media. For instance, I get my movie reviews from Fake Movie Critic instead of Ebert.

Grou.ps (another of those funky website names) is a site to create group-based information. Think of it as a wiki with lots more uses. I haven’t yet done much with my grou.ps account, but if you go there, you can see what I’m thinking of doing:

Yelp is an opinions site. I’m using it to write about places up north in Massachusetts, but you can write about pretty much anywhere they cover (I think this is mostly US-based. Sorry). I like this one.

I like amazon.com’s new features. Not only can you write reviews about a book or product, you can start your own micro-cult. You can write data into their wikis. You can post messages on their message boards. It’s truly growing their capabilities.
