Beach Five Miler

August 17, 2004

Okay, I can’t do math. My run last night were sub-10 minute miles (not closer to 9), with a burst at the end. I did a fair job of it. Ran with a guy named Bob. I’m really happy with my performance, and I feel pretty good considering I did a 10 mile run the day before, the gym and home workouts before the race. Mind you, I’d forgotten there was a race. I might’ve done that stuff differently. But whatever.

48:30 for 5 Miles!

A race back-to-back with a 10 mile long run? You.are.insane. I’d be lucky to finish. Good job!

Well, it wasn’t like I *meant* to do them back to back. That’s later, when I start fudging with ultras.

Man, you’re nuts. But in a good way. Great job, Chris!

Seriously though…that’s a great accomplishment. I’d be cranky as heck if I had a race the day after a long run and you just took it in stride (pun intended). You just did what needed to be done, and even made a friend along the way (Bob). And I’ll bet you were smiling the whole time.

You rock Chris - I’m so proud!

Good stuff, I am lucky if i can run 100 yards and would be measuring every step if I could get that far.

The last time I did a 10 mile run, was a run in the car.

Well done.
