Being the Same You Always

garyvaynerchukGary Vaynerchuk is best known for the success story that his efforts with Wine Library TV have brought his family business. You can google 10,859,701 stories about that. But what he covers in the video below is important. It’s important to you as a person trying to figure out your online presence, your reputation, your persona.

Gary points out in this excellent post (and he’s been on FIRE lately on this site) just how all these new technologies are going to impact how we behave, and how we’ll have to become the same person all the time.     Though it’s a loose parallel, I’ve been explaining to friends who aren’t “there” yet that the shifts happening in/with Web 2.0 is like the difference between pre- and post-Women’s suffrage. The point being, I’m sure there were a whole bunch of politicians pre-Women’s suffrage who were great before women could vote, but couldn’t make the shift once the voter pool increased by 100%.

    I am still cautiously optimistic that everything Gary says will, in fact, come to fruition. I am all for Citizen Revolution (big commie from way back) but Vested Interests are vast and mighty.
