Listen First Sell Later

I really like Bob Poole. He has a great perspective, writes interesting posts, and does things along a similar vein as I would want to do things. I was happy to get his book, Listen First – Sell Later (amazon affiliate link), and also the nifty zombie monkey shirt he included in the box. I didn’t read this book for the shirt. I read it because I like Bob. So, I shot a quick video book review:

I’ve known Bob for a few years now, and I agree, he’s a great guy.

He knows his stuff.  It’s nice to learn from someone with true wisdom.

    Thanks Bob.

I second (third?) that.  Bob’s a great guy (full disclosure: he’s also a client), and his book is a really worthwhile read.   I just love the story about the cranky guy with the pipe.

Zombie Monkey T-shirt… You’re a cheap date!  Thanks for the Rec… I checked out Bob’s site and I like what I see probably going to pick up the book.

    Thanks!

I must agree, the guy has a point! Regardless of what business you are in those tips apply, because you need to learn and study a lot if you wish to have success.

Totally unrelated: I like how you’ve positioned your mic. Is that the blue yeti? I’m getting a desktop boom stand for mine. I’ll be sure to share my setup with you.

I can’t think of any relationship that isn’t improved by listening first. Listening leads to understanding which creates the basis for better responses in any situation, professional or personal. Thanks for giving this book some exposure…and for your post!

The title says it all Chris. You only know how to help people by listening to their story. Doctors do not diagnose without seeing a patient, so sellers can not possibly offer a solution through selling, unless listening to the individual’s story.

    Thanks for sharing the review!

Excellent sharing thanks. And this sounds great that listen first ,sell later. If any person move or start their business with this point of view then he/she can achieve the great success. First know the needs, try to make some update as per the needs , and then again start to listen. This will be the major path through which one can increase the business and the sale also.

Absolutely no doubt.I think it makes sense to listen to what the customer has to say then act accordingly Giving customers what they want is all that matters. Successful businesses follow this very rule and hopefully more should adapt the same.

    Thanks
