    TIMELINESS !!!!

You are very right about confidence . Setting goals and realizing them, hushing the critics , internally and externally , got any Dimatap for my internal Parrot ?

Let me toss several two cent piece into you brilliant black pond.

Ripple # 1 : Confidence is contextual, thus though shall face weaknesses bravely and diligently .

    Ripple # 2 : Belief, shall I say more?

Ripple # 3 :Wild Bill Hickock said when asked about his secret , he said ” take your time ” Why did he say that ? Further, how did he live to say that?

I hope this adds to your discussion:

I believe human beings are at their best when they fashion them self around a real tangible need…

Jeff Greenfield made the observation the other day that during the great depression, people could see progress. People building things and making a difference .

This links back to Kennith Clarks observations in Civilizations in reference to Gibons and The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire. In short, people need vitality, belief in law and order, belief in their own powers and confidence … Life is a full contact sport where there is no substitute for game time. .. Thich Nat Han, “we are good at preparing to live and not living.” Living comes first and then harvesting the past and preparing for the future second. This is not to over look spiritual need being integrated into living.

Great video, Chris. I’ve always been a firm believer of the saying, “knowledge is power” and is a major factor in helping me gain confidence in something.

Being yourself achieves this everytime. Its hard not to be yourself and not be confident. I believe one thing trumps it though and thats faith. Faith that things will turn out as you want them. Not faith in the spiritual sense but faith in your abilities and strengths. Perhaps experience delivers that too.

Sometimes just winging it a good strategy my early adventures in entrepeneurship when I was kid were almost always about winging it. Following just gut feelings. I borrowed £500 from my college fund and traded stocks. I didn’t know at the time I would triple my profits, I just did it. Knowledge on certain stocks did back it up but I was no Warren Buffet. I didn’t have company reports!

Later I set up a marketing business around when I turned 18 again just winging it. I was actually 1 week overdue on rent. I was in Mebourne Australia.

I just knew there were other ways to make money other than the job I had. I just had faith in my abilities. Its a quite faith that keeps you together. If I had to describe faith in ones abilities its the soundtrack of “You Can Do It” that plays when your mind goes silent.

    Its always playing!!!

Having confidence in yourself is an essential part in success. Without it all you will do is quit everything you start. So building confidence is key to success.
