Deb Schultz on Extended Relationships

Superstar Deborah Schultz has shared her slideshow from her presentation at NextWeb in Amsterdam. Look past the fact that we’re using an astonishing number of social media tools to reach out and establish conversations and relationships, and Deb will take you into the guts of this. When you’re done watching the slideshow, scroll down, read Deb’s original post, and follow every link in that post.

This is such an affirmation, Chris. Thanks so much for sharing it.
What an excellent tool to give words to stuff that I intuitively feel but didn’t have organized beyond my brain.
Kudos to both you and Deb.

Wow Wee! Love that slide 26. Transparency is always underestimated but certainly the key. Also, a use for all that extra cream rinse in my shower.

    Listen…not wait to talk.

Hi Chris! the trip to slideshare and Deb’s presentation was well worth it. whether we call it continuous partial friendship, ambient intimacy or having good peripheral vision for the activities of friends and family – the process is a new way of keeping in touch. I amazed at the rapid takeup of facebook amongst just the few folks who have invited me to be their friend on FB, and what is most interesting to me is to get a 50-yard line seat on the action – however, i just skipped to AIM for a frank conversation with my son Scott – which did the trick of airing a tense situation – Because my buddy list on AOL is only for family I feel the ambient intimacy there is somewhat protected – which I don’t see being true of Facebook.

Or am I missing a feature that would provide that protective shelter? I will search for it but if you know how to duplicate the family buddy list on FB I’d appreciate your input.

    Best to you

    Chris,
I was reading your article on social networks at lifehacks, I visited your site and instantly thought there is a lot of things I need to come back here and read when I have more time. And I will make the time.
I look forward to delving into more of the details.
