Hi Chris,

Those are useful tips. I think one must just blog from the heart. I found for me that if i was trying to be authoritive I developed all sorts of hang ups about my writing etc. And after reading what I wrote it looked like it came from a teacher rather than me.

So the thing is to allow your personality to shine through.

I love the list thus far…it’s a great crash-course in community building.

A couple of blogs I visited did something pretty neat to let me know that they were following up with me on their comment. When I received this introduction, I didn’t feel invaded on, it actually felt pretty neat.

Here’s what they did, after I commented, they sent me an email to 1.) welcome me to their blog, 2.) let me know that they wrote a follow up comment. But mind you, that’s all it takes, one email the first time.

(Just a neat tip I thought I’d share).

This article is great! Straight to the point ‘no mucking around’ stuff. As Steve says, some of the stuff I have heard of before but there’s nothing quite like a little article that reminds you to get back to basics.

I just started a blog site…and I honestly had know clue what to with it. In fact its not even really named yet. So I decided to do a little research on what others have done. In doing so, I have had the joy of running across this page. Thank you for your insight. I will be putting it to use, and most likely I will come back for more inspiration.
