From Neuromancer

Neuromancer on My Mind His vision crawled with ghost hieroglyphs, translucent lines of symbols arranging themselves against the neutral backdrop of the bunker wall. He looked at the backs of his hands, saw faint neon molecules crawling beneath the skin, ordered by the unknowable code. He raised his right hand and moved it experimentally. It left a faint, fading trail of strobed afterimages.

The hair stood up along his arms and at the back of his neck. He crouched there with his teeth bared and felt for the music. The pulse faded, returned, faded…

`What’s wrong?’ She sat up, clawing hair from her eyes. `Baby…’

`I feel… like a drug… You get that here?’ * 1490,,()’ ;

    I read my copy of Neuromancer so many times it’s long since turned to dust. “Just a little more before bed,” indeed.

    Great book… Check out Pattern Recognition when you’re done. Oh, and also make sure to read the other two in the sprawl trilogy: Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive. Love Gibson… Can’t wait for Spook County in August…

    I have head a hard time getting into Pattern Recognition. I put it down halfway through and haven’t picked it up again yet. I just couldn’t get into Cayce like I could Case.

    I do suggest Idoru though, even if it is a theinly veiled account of Gibsons time with U2…

    For the record… I’ve read EVERY Gibson book. I’m a dork. You guys aren’t talking about The Difference Engine, though. What a swell read THAT was. : )

    Yes, I fully concede my dorkality where Gibson is concerned.

    At one point Michael Mann had optioned the rights to Count Zero, and I was so excited about the even-better-than-blade-runner possibilities there that I went looking for updates every couple months. Mehopes I’ve “evolved” a bit since those days…
