Get the Newsletter Too

July 28, 2008 · Comments

lightpost The latest edition of my newsletter went out this morning at 6AM. It was a special edition talking about podcasting and how it might impact your business. The difference between my newsletter and what’s normally on [chrisbrogan.com] is that the newsletter is usually just a bit more geared towards newcomers, and of course, the newsletter is easier for you to share with people, so it travels better in email circles. I’d love for you to consider subscribing for free if you feel you’d like more tips and ideas sent to your inbox. It doesn’t come more than two or three times a month, so don’t worry about being overwhelmed. I’ll stick to the blog for that. And thanks. : )

ChrisBrogan.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

Thesis WordPress theme

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like ChrisBrogan.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

  • Can you share why your newsletter is only in email form. What would be so wrong with a blog or at least an RSS feed of the newsletter.

Just curious of your rational. And for the record, I obviously dont' care for newsletters. I am of the mindset that emails should be generated when it's personalized content for that one person, but I understand that not everybody uses a feed reader (yet).
  • Sweet.

I'm a prior product manager, gone community manager a couple months ago. I frequent your blog almost daily now and usually find something worthwhile. Look forward to reading your Newsletter.
  • This newsletter was my first newsletter from you, and it was extremely useful! I'm wondering why didn't I subscribe sooner!

Got me excited for the things I can try and think up and bring over to RooftopComedy.com.
  • @Alan - I have a blog. You're here. Why would I offer my newsletter as a blog. The entire purpose of the newsletter is to NOT be the same as the blog. If you don't want it, don't get it. Perfectly okay. : )
  • Thanks for following up to my question Chris. In general, I do think emails generally should be reserved for content prepared solely for that person it was send to.

But I do understand the need for separation of content at times. Thanks for replying.
  • For those of you who want to turn everything into an RSS feed, http://mailbucket.org/ can help!
