Gift Ideas 2009

November 25, 2009 · Comments

Last year, I put together a little Amazon gift store of ideas for people, and I got great feedback. The idea was something along the lines of, “if someone I know is into all this social media stuff and the whole web space, what would they want?” Here are my gift ideas for 2009 for you to get for other nice folks on your holiday shopping list. (I already own these things. That’s why I can recommend them).

Gifts range from stocking stuffers to “oh, I can’t believe you bought that for me” level in price. Note that there are 3 categories in the sidebar: books, gear, and DVDs/Music. Click the upper left sidebar to navigate those.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll point out some other ideas, including indie products, charitable giving ideas, and more.
Enjoy, and Happy Holidays. I’ll have something more special soon. : )

  • thanks for your post
  • Never thought of creating a store of my favorite items. Duh! I see you have the Motorola Droid. Thinking about this in the future. I am surprised you didn't include Inbound Marketing on your book list. Just read it and it is a great read. Trust Agents is next on my list. Will do an Amazon video review once I am done. Thanks for the list Chris. Very cool.

Thanks Chris--the Poken looks really cool--especially for my gadget loving...I want to grow up and be a Ninja son! Happy Thanksgiving...Thank You for sending so much wonderful information my way, all year long.

Great selection, Chris. But since you already have all of these things, I'm wondering what is on your wish list this year?
  • LOVE the idea of the Poken. They were talking about these at the MarketingProfs mixer here in Chicago last month. Are they starting to catch on? I feel like for not, I'll be the only one "poking" - but I clearly see this as the next great tool of networking events. Do you have one yourself Chris? Interested to hear some of your thoughts.

Thanks for putting together this list. Good stuff. Happy Holidays sir!
  • The Poken is a cool idea! I wish I had something like that for the user names and passwords I use for various sites. I tried to keep it in docs on my old computer(bad idea when computer crashes), then I tried a notebook(a little better), but I lost it for a while :( lol.
  • Chris, 2 items caught my eye, but looking for some insight. Want to get an e-reader for my Mom, but she's 'technically challenged'. Seems that the Nook may be easier to use with touchscreen than Kindle. Thoughts?

And on the LiveScribe pen, I've seen them, but never bought one. How often do you use yours. Any best uses versus taking notes on netbook (to address not wanting to tote around big laptops)?

    Thanks!
  • I liked your book selection! Your 2009 gift list inspired me to do a search on TipTop http://feeltiptop.com/gift%20ideas%20for/. Thanks!
