Google Releases Social Graph API

February 1, 2008 · Comments

Just when you thought it was a lazy rainy (in Boston) Friday afternoon, you see news that Google and Social Graph exist in the same sentence. This is interesting. Just by trying out the My connections demo application, you can start to see what’s coming with this API. Some really interesting (and perhaps some scary) applications are coming soon, friends.

ChrisBrogan.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

Thesis WordPress theme

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like ChrisBrogan.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

Well done Google, it's about time someone did this. This is good for the whole Internet, not just the social networking sites. And who knows, maybe we'll even see some useful apps coming out of the social networking arena now (compared to the rubbish they've been throwing at people for the past 3 or 4 years).

  • so weird. I was just at the xfn site the other day wondering how to get on that. of course, google's gonna help make it all happen. this kind of thing will be a wonderful counter to facebook. decentralized networks that follow YOU - not one website.
  • Neat (and like you said scary). Still didn't stop me from making my about page xfn enabled :)
  • That is friggin' cool.
