Moments ago, I realized to my horror that TODAY is my Mom’s birthday, not tomorrow. We celebrated last weekend, so it’s not like THAT. But still. I didn’t call her today, so I feel a bit dumb about that.
My Mom’s doing some really cool things in her life right now. She is an artist, creating gold and silver wire wrap jewelry ( wanna see some?). She is a grasshopper, who answered a call for opinions the other day. And she’s a wonderful grandmother to my children, and a cool wife to my Dad.
She has tattoos. She got one for each grandkid. Pretty wild, eh? I don’t even have tattoos.
My mom really believed in me growing up (Dad did, too). She’d often tell me that I was going to do something very special and important when I grew up. She was the one who worked hard at keeping me focused on school. She helped with creative projects.
She sang to us a lot as children, and was very musical. My mom plays piano, and used to play the accordian, clarinet, and I think something else, too). I like that, because it probably is where my musical side comes from.
I’m pretty proud of my mom. I think she’s quite a star, and I wish her a very happy birthday. She doesn’t keep a blog (that I know of), so if you want, just swing by her website, look around, and maybe that’s a tribute enough. : ) Or, you could leave comments here. She reads this blog, I’ve heard. : )
Happy Birthday, Mom. I love you.
