Happy Birthday Violette

June 8, 2008

Two Wheel Driver Happy Birthday to my daughter, Violette, who turns six today. She is probably most proud of the fact that she can ride a two-wheel bike, but later, I will ask her what she’s most proud of, and we’ll edit the post together. She might also tell you that she loves being active.

Velocity

She lives a different life than the average kid in some regards:

She Counters

She makes me so proud. I love her sense of humor, her ideas, her quirky smile. I think she will grow up to be quite the talented performer, no matter her field of study.

Violette Happy

She gets to play the role of princess often:

Violette and Evi

Even though her Dad is sometimes a frog,

Frog Prince

maybe some day, I’ll turn back into a prince, and we can live happily ever after:

Grumpy

Happy Birthday, Violette. I love you, and I’m glad tools like blogs and Flickr are around, so that I can share my thoughts with you for years to come.

Happy Birthday Violette! :)

Chris, it’s vitally important that children grow up with a strong, positive, happy fatherly presence in their lives. You’re doing a great job.

Aw, how cute! Wish there were blogs around when I was a kid–would’ve loved to have read things like this from my dad :)

Happy Birthday to Violette!

Incidentally the name of my house is “Casa delle Violette” ;)

Great pictures. Six is such a fun age…….:)

I too wish computers had been around when my kids were young. Blogging is a great way to share the memories of family life, kids, and just life in general.

The really good news for you Chris,is as they get older it just keeps getting better and “funner!” At least that has been my experience! A great Hippo Birdy day to your six year old and your family!

Sara and Lucy (fellow six year olds) say Happy Birthday Violette!!! Tell your daddy to take you to the next big conference.

Happy Birthday, Violette! You should be proud of your bike-riding skills, that’s hard to do. My 9-year-old still wobbles. A lot. :)

Congratulations, Chris, what a lovely tribute to your cutie-pie. You’re a fine frog to have for a Dad.

Regards,

Kelly

That is very cool.

Happy Birthday Violette! When you aren’t having fun being active and riding your bike, try to keep your Dad in line. ;-)

Oh, and try to remember that feeling you had when you first learned how to ride that two-wheeler. It’s a special feeling. It will help you through the tough stuff you have to learn later in life.

That's awesome - I have a little Violet myself, but she's only two (three soon, though!)
