How Heroes Failed Me

Comic BookYesterday, I logged into my MySpace page, and the place was swathed in ads for NBCs “Heroes” show. I clicked something or other and ended up on their page. If I wanted a free buddy icon, I was SET. Heroes had like 19556 friends or something. I could’ve been 19557. I could even watch part or a whole episode of the show (I never clicked the button to find out).

But what I *couldn’t* do was download the first season to date to watch on my laptop. I couldn’t order the first season on DVD. They had lots of free “I’m a fan” things to do, but didn’t let me (who hasn’t even seen a complete episode) jump on board and do something.

Thank *.deity for Olivia Munn and Adult Swim. THEY let me play along.

How it failed me: it started to suck.

And why is the cheerleader almost always wearing her stupid cheerleader clothes?

“Dress the cheerleader, save the show.”

Hiro is the only redeeming quality to me. He’s me if I were 11 years old and got a superpower. The painter guy and dual-nature girl are pretty cool as concepts, too, I guess. The rest of it is hack drama that gets harder and harder to watch.

Then again, maybe I’m just bitter that my only superpower is amazingly bad morning breath and superhumanly long comments.

I’m still feeling this show, however, I don’t put a lot into it. It’s got this whole team “Unbreakable” vibe to it that I can get down with. I also appreciate the fact that it deals with some type of Comics vibe, which a regular flavor in my lifestyle hustle. There is a lot that could be done different, I agree. I have to give it to my man Kring for trying. It’s better than “Lost”, but, only because I could care less about people stranded on an island. I watch “Survivor” for that ;) BTW — I think you can get every episode of Heroes on ITMS. Be easy, bruh.
