Because people are rarely affiliates for the products they create. The goal is to recruit sellers other than the makers. My point in marking it NOT an affiliate link was to be clear of the relationship you’d have with clicking through.

My studio developed the Evernote plugin for WordPress.

Evernote has a great affiliate program and with he plugin, it’s as easy as punching in your affiliate code and when people sign up, you get the credit!

As a young person who is just beginning his career I often think it’s important to build for the long haul rather than look for short term profits.

I’ve run a blog for about 2 years and slowly developed a small community. Is it more important to focus purely on building trust now, then later focus on potential affiliate programs? My fear is that if I focus on trying to turn a profit too early I’ll loose out on some potential true fans.

I guess the counter point to that is if I provide value to my community, they will not be deterred by the affiliate program…

Lets say you get real good at affiliate marketing for a company or two. What to keep them from copying you and doing it themselves?

Also, lets say start flooding there competition with bad customers and they are forced to pay you to stop, could that be considered a form of racketeering ?

People are realising most of the stuff they have been reading and the internet marketing products they have been buying are useless. I have bee poking around at the thought of adding affiliates to my website. My website is a free service and the affiliate sounds like a good way to earn some extra “escarole” Im not the best with ebooks however. I enjoy the old fashioned way of taking a book with me, underlining and writing notes along the way. Can u suggest any books i can pick up a hard copy? thanks. Jennifer
