I Broke WordPress

I have no idea what I did, but somehow, over the last little while, I broke my chrisbrogan.com website such that it keeps reverting back to the basic Kubrick theme, no matter how many times I set the theme to something new. Dammit. What did I do? How do I fix it?

I re-installed WordPress, overwriting any duplicate files. Is there something I’m still missing? Which file holds the “state” of which theme I use?

Hellllllp. (Note: this is a superhero call to help).

there’s no file for the state – it’s an entry in the mysql database.

I don’t know which theme you want but the one I see has the yellowish montage theme look right now. In WP I think you want to edit files in Presentation->Theme Editor, I think.

I have no idea how to fix anything, but the thought of you knowing three of us with the same odd spelling of our first name is just too exciting.

I was just feeling left out there for not being called Jon, and wondering if having John as a middle name was enough. Then, I realised that if I post a comment, us Michaels can start ganging up too. Yay!

Oh, and you didn’t just forget to Ctrl-refresh, did you? The browser might just be refusing to go get the stylesheet again, thinking it’s still got it from before you changed theme. Clearing cache might be needed if it’s playing up, or just run a different browser to check.

Yeah, I’m betting Michael is onto with caching. It’s either browser caching or server caching. If not the browser, are you using wp-cache or is your host using some kind of php caching?

    That’d be my guess.

Hey! I’m on my 3rd pot of coffee – can I help?? Can I ? Can I? Huh? Well?

oh, looks like you fixed it.
I see yellow – but maybe it’s from all that coffee…

Hate to be a spoilsport but I’m seeing the Kubrick theme. (1/29 at 6:35pm ET)

Did you upgrade to WP 2.1, Chris? For some reason, the caching seems to be a problem with it.
