LinkedIN Wants You to Make INtroductions

September 18, 2009 · Comments

A few weeks back, my friend Mario Sundar from LinkedIn gave away 50 copies of Trust Agents to people who did a quick twitter shoutout. Well, he’s at it again. LinkedIn, in partnership with 800CEORead (as a distributor) are giving out another 50. (This isn’t exactly a sponsored post, but Mario’s obviously doing me a favor by buying 50 books to give to you.)

Here’s what you do to win:

ON TWITTER (not on this blog and not on linkedin), I want you to introduce one of your LinkedIn connections to another person on Twitter, and tag the introduction with #linkedin. Here’s an example:

“Hey @davedelaney: I’d love for you to meet @incslinger. You’d appreciate him. #linkedin”

The first 50 that I count doing that will receive a copy of Trust Agents, courtesy of LinkedIn.

Mario and LinkedIn believe that what LinkedIn does best is offer a way to share trusted relationships. I think that’s the very best thing they do. The reputation engine at the heart of LinkedIn, including the recommendation system, is my favorite. That’s one of the things I really love about the service.

So, get tweeting if you want a free copy of Trust Agents. :)

Morality is not really the doctrine of how to make ourselves happy but of how we are to be worthy of happiness.

Do this. Great things happen! Thanks for the great advice, Chris!
  • That wasn't so hard. Thanks for the great idea!

so who got the free copies?
  • Wew! whatta "what to dos"...
  • Just INtroduced two former employees - both connected to me via LinkedIn, but strangers to one another.
  • Hi Chris ! I've done it and it's gonna cost you : I'm french ! tiffany;-p
  • I found this surprisingly hard. I am fairly new to linkedin and I also have few friends and workmates on linkedin. Even fewer use twitter. I did make one introduction that I think it is appropriate though. Probably not one of the winners, but that isn't the point.
  • I like what you said.
  • @chrisbrogan The power of introductions. That's how I found my current job at LinkedIn! :) Glad we're helping foster that... #trustagents #800ceoread
  • Surely I am not one of the first 50 (I am guessing) but it's still excellent advice that I followed just the same ... noticed the trend this morning, wish I'd known about the book offer!

    Cheers Chris, great stuff!

I hope my tweet counted - I didn't go through your site :( - but no matter, maybe I made a tweet connection through the exercise :)
  • Hi Chris ! I've done it and it's gonna cost you : I'm french ! ;-p
  • Chris - just did at twitter.com/winningwp Hope I'm one of the first 50. Thanks for the offer.

This was fun.. I think I missed getting the book by 6 ppl ahead of me, but I hope I connected some folk who could benefit from knowing one another. Great idea LinkedIN!
  • Easy enough :) I've done this now for months. It really does help bring people from the "Pro" Network into the "Conversation" Network.
  • Done and done!
