Little BIG Things – Tom Peters – Video Book Review

I love Tom Peters. He’s gotten me in trouble for years. Well, his books have. I finally got to have lunch with him, and then see him keynote. The affair just grows and grows. And now, Tom’s done the whole “compile some good blog posts into a better book” thing. It’s awesome. His new book, The Little Big Things: 163 Ways to Pursue EXCELLENCE (amazon affiliate link), is just outright wonderfully STUFFED full of Tom Peters-ish things about pursuing excellence. Some of it is so simple you’ll kick yourself for not doing it already. The rest of it is thought-provoking and heart-felt. You’ll get something out of this book. And it’s HUGE. Almost 400 pages. Just a big giant helping of the man himself. Thanks, Tom.

This looks great. I see they are doing a Kindle version but after seeing the size in your hands I am not sure how the Kindle version will compare or carry the same impact.

I'm fascinated by paradox and dichotomy. Duality and the ability of a theory to exist within multiple planes simultaneously, regardless of/depending on which frequency the individual receptor is keyed into. How one theory begets multiple actions, as a result of that frequency. The power of the individual. Responsibility of the individual.

The biggest concepts we can wrap our heads around are encapsulated and represented by teeny tiny words. Do. Be. Is.

Grandiose gestures are dwarfed by small ideas, executed consistently over time. Little big things, done daily.

I did not have a clue about Tom Peters and his work till I saw this post, should I have admitted that. Going to check out his blog now.

By the way I loved the part about getting excited and rushing to talk about what needs to be implemented and not really having that pull. I so have been there many of times, at times I have been heard and things have been changed, and other times not so much.
