Marshall Kirkpatrick On New Media Consulting

June 10, 2008

Marshall Kirkpatrick One of the people I learn from regularly is Marshall Kirkpatrick. He is thoughtful, thorough, and very easy going. I met him for the first time last year at Gnomedex (Look closely at this picture and you’ll see me in the background), and have learned something new every handful of days from Marshall ever since. Now, if you’re interested in consulting about social or new media, I’d recommend Marshall’s post with his thoughts.

It’s great reading, and it’s worth thinking about. If you’re thinking of hiring a new media type, give Marshall’s thoughts some consideration as well.

How to be a new media consultant - Marshall Kirkpatrick.

I have known Marshall for a few years here in Portland and I must say he is one of the most good hearted folks I know in this big wide world. He’s a thoughtful dude and as smart as they get!

Ditto the rest, MarshallK is top-notch! (As are are ChrisBrogan and BrianSolis.)

Some people may say this social media/network thing is an echo chamber… but perhaps its really more of an incubator with the best of the best supporting and propelling each other towards greatness. I do truly believe this brilliant group of people will design, build, and lead the world towards a better/smarter/more respectful future.

I don’t mean to sounds like a politician… I just love how GOOD people are here.

Cheers!

#3 Providing value aside, I bet you and others here were particularly moved by #2 "Let people know that you are a consultant." I mean, for social media, what's more important than that?!
