My Only April Fools Joke

April 1, 2008

There’s only one thing I don’t tell social networks electronically and that’s my real birth day. Why? Not sure. I figure if something is going to leak into the wrong hands, maybe my birth date will be the one thing that fouls up someone trying to pretend they’re me. (I know the truth, but this is my little thing).

So, for everyone being lovely and wishing me a happy birthday, I will accept and say thank you, and that your wishes mean a great deal to me. Truly. I *love* my birthday irrationally and with the exuberance of a 9 year old.

But it’s a week from today, so wish it to me twice, or just let Facebook and Plaxo tell you the first. It means the same to me that you thought of me. : )

Arrrrggghhhh!!!!!! I saw some old posts wishing you a HB on the 8th and wasn’t sure. Oh well, HB now in case I can’t remember next week ;)

Comment by francine hardaway on April 1, 2008 @ 12:40 am

If you weren’t so cute and nice, I’d be pissed. But since it’s you, Happy Birthday next week!

Comment by GeekMommy on April 1, 2008 @ 12:41 am

Oh you stinker!
That’s the only one I’ve fallen for so far today!! :)

Okay, you’ll get double doses from me then… but I’ve a long memory… just you wait until next year! I’ll get you back! heh

Comment by John Lockwood on April 1, 2008 @ 1:43 am

Your birthday can be any day, just so long as you know Dan Steinberg.

Comment by Ted Demopoulos, Blogging for Business on April 1, 2008 @ 7:06 am

Chris,
I knew it wasn’t your b’day — was pretty sure.
I get birthday thanks Aug 1 — not mine also.

Protect your birthday, social if a US person, and never sell your passport in the middle east (yes, I had an offer once!)

PS: The FBI recommends you keep your birthday private too.

Comment by Lisa Marie Mary on April 1, 2008 @ 7:59 am

Well, happy pre-birthday birthday! I saw all the fuss on Twitter and had to come see what it was all about! Hahaha!

Comment by WPModder on April 1, 2008 @ 8:47 am

Happy pre-birthday from me too:)

I’d just like to point out that even though your real birthday isn’t advertised, didn’t you just give us all a pretty clue in saying that it is a week from today?

Is it a week in the future? A week in the past? Or are you just trying to throw us all off yet again by letting us think it’s a week from now?

Pretty sneaky sir, sneaky indeed!

Comment by Kat on April 1, 2008 @ 8:50 am

um
your birthday is in august
wtf?

Comment by Sonia Simone on April 1, 2008 @ 9:05 am

Happy not-birthday! I keep mine a secret as well, it gives me that shred of privacy. :)

Comment by Tim Wilson on April 1, 2008 @ 9:24 am

Yep. I bit. Grrr…

Comment by Shaye Richardson on April 1, 2008 @ 9:55 am

Nice one Chris : ) Looks like you caught alot of people out!! Good on everyone for being good sports on this jokey day….

I also do the same, keeping my real birthday under wraps is the one piece of information I have not shared with the whole wide world - www! xo

Comment by Derrick Kwa on April 1, 2008 @ 10:37 am

Yeah, damn. I got caught out by this as well. Haha. Was almost going to dedicate a post to you as well..=P.

Comment by Cathleen Rittereiser on April 1, 2008 @ 10:40 am

Chris,

I have such a great memory for birthdays and it’s been bugging me that you had April 1 listed as your birthday, because I was sure it was April 8. Have a good one today and next week.

Comment by Connie Bensen on April 1, 2008 @ 11:15 am

Hey Chris,
Happy Birthday early! I tried to arrange a birthday celebration - but it seems the joke’s on me. :)

Have a great one next week.
Connie

Hi Chris!
I’m glad for the advance notice of your birthday, when ever it is! Better early than late :)
Great people like you should have their lives celebrated every day! :)
Happy Birthday in advance!

You’re just trying to get two sets of birthday wishes, aren’t you. Well we’ll just see about THAT! :-P

Reading this a week late. I bet you really got a kick out of my early (even for 4/1) e-card.

Hope your day rocks!
