New York Adventure

Photo Courtesy Geo Geller I got back from New York City last evening, after quite a bunch of work. Though a million things got done, and I wish I had a lot more time and energy, because I missed hanging out with Andrew. But, I had some fun times with Jeff, Jonathan, Geo, and the other merry folks we met up with.

Wednesday morning, I had a breakfast at the New York Media Information Exchange Group (NYMIEG) meetup, put on by Bill Sobel. It was quite a collection of people. The speakers were Bob Pittman and Fred Seibert, two of the guys behind MTV. They were both great speakers, and lots of what Fred said were funny, because he seems to have run his businesses a lot like how Jeff does his. I also got to spend a few moments with Shelly Palmer, who has lots to do in the media space (mostly TV), including things like the Emmys.

Photo by Geo Geller I was thankful to run into John Havens, and Kathryn and Nick, Jason Van Orden, and tons more swell folks behind PodCamp NYC. That was great, too.

Photo by Geo Geller We hung out at the Cheyenne Diner in Chelsea, working on the Network2 standalone pitch, something we’ll send to people who want to know more about the company so they can share among themselves. Jeff was fun, because at parts it was just wordsmithing and getting the right tone, but then other times, he’d get his passion on, and then he was GOING! He’d give me stuff so fast, I could barely write it down. Jonathan gave lots of input, and Geo (the photographer on 3 of these shots) had some interesting random bits to help as well.

Rocketboom Map Poor Sherng-Lee from Rocketboom. We ran into him at RB HQ and I begged him to see the map. This was shot in very low light with my phone’s camera. But hey! I’m there next to the map!

This means for those of us keeping track (Me!), that I’ve been on the sets of The Carol & Steve Show, Something to Be Desired, and now Rocketboom. Hmm… who’s next? Clip Show? Galacticast? Goodnight Burbank?

Anyhow, it was a great time. I’ll tell you more about it at some point.

All the good photos were shot by Geo Geller. One of his great sites is Vizual Poetry.
