I’m not normally a meme guy, but when none other than the famous Heidi Miller tags you, I feel obligated to respond. The topic set forth was: 5 Things You Don’t Know About Me. Let’s see if anyone actually knows all of these.
- I kissed my first girl with intent when I was five. She was my grandparents’ neighbor. I believe her family moved because of me. I saw her twice more in my life when we were both older. The looks were interesting.
- I went to a square dance instead of a prom. It was part of the Middlebury College Bread Loaf Young Writers Convention, and my girlfriend at the time and I both won entry to the convention. I really blew that opportunity as a writer, but I had fun at the dance.
- I’m very shy for the first little while in a new situation, or when I feel *very* off-key from everyone else around me, but eventually, I get my legs under me, and I use humor as my way in. For as bold as I often come off, I’m shy around the edges.
- In honor of World Ninja Day, I spent the evenings of age 13-14 dressed as a ninja, performing all kinds of crazy missions (that I won’t name here, because Mom reads my blog), but that involved really sharp swords, random “justice” initiatives, and a few downright silly moments.
- I am afraid of sharks (but also fascinated by them). I saw JAWS at a very early age, and now I get twitchy, even in lakes.
I tag no one, as I’m not one for these. If you want to move forward and do this, feel free to share. Or throw something in the comments.
