One Paragraph of Fame

Bryan Person was kind enough to pass a reporter from the Boston Herald over to me to talk a bit about blogs after he was done with her. It boiled down to a paragraph or so from me without quotes, and one reasonable pull quote from Bryan. Ah, that fun print media.

Here’s the Article

(I’m smirking about calling it “fame,” because I know Steve Garfield would laugh at me.) Well hey, we can’t *all* have Time, Newsweek, Wired, and whoever coming after us. : )

There is the admitted coolness factor of being in the paper, but I’d agree with Steve Garfield’s general view — the story probably won’t bring either of us a single additional reader. Neither the print nor online verison list or even link to our websites, so we’d have to hope that readers actually did some follow-up by of their own (I’m not holding my breath).

It’s just another reminder that much of the mainstream press is still trying to figure this all out. Let’s not spend too much time waiting for them to catch up.

Chris and Brian ~ Still cool none the less ~ mainstream press is not up to snuff with how this works online or the power and momentum it is building.

PS Brian – it did get you one more subscriber :-)
