Paris is for Horses

June 6, 2009 · Comments

In the “summer reading” vein, I have two book reviews for you that aren’t about business or marketing or the like. I like The Crimes of Paris, by the Hooblers, and also The Horse Boy by Isaacson. One is a true story of the theft of the Mona Lisa. The other is about a family’s quest to find a connection to their autistic boy. I wouldn’t have read The Horse Boy if it weren’t for Zena Weist. I find the best books come from trusted friends. (Whitney Hoffman has the same taste as me in reading.)

By the way, if you like THE HORSE BOY, you can follow @theHorseBoy on Twitter. He’s a great communicator.

  • "The Horse Boy" book was a beautifully written portrait of one family's pain, and quest for a cure for their autistic son. I have an autistic grandson, and I'm reading everything I can on the subject. I encourage everyone with an autistic child in the family, to read this story about hope, faith, and love.
  • Thanks for the suggestions! So much of our time is spent online, it's great to read a book every once in awhile. I've gotten a few great ideas from books and movies- and sometimes the strangest comments or ideas will lead to a great campaign.
  • I'm glad you liked The Horse Boy and thanks for the shout-out, friend! I love Isaacson's writing style - how the story reads like a novel though it's non-fiction - and thought it might be one you could sink into and enjoy.

And to pair Isaacson's review with Hoobler's, very nice. I was looking for a non-work book for an upcoming trip, sounds like The Crimes of Paris will be it!
