Planting Seeds

I have been in the business of planting seeds lately. It started actually several months back, and I will readily admit, most of the seeds were for me to cultivate, nourish, and then pick when harvest time came about. But what a remarkably rewarding experience this has been.

First, I dared to spend some money to attend Podcast Academy 2 in Boston. I came away feeling excited, especially about the lessons taught by Steve Garfield around how easy it is to do video podcasting. I went away psyched.

I planted the next seeds by starting Fat Guy Gets Fit, a weekly audio podcast about fitness, nutrition, self-esteem, and a website review. That was TONS of fun, and I learned a lot.

I wrote a blog post about content networks being the new blogs.

I attended BarCamp Boston on June 3rd. Another seed, this one part of what turned into PodCamp. I gave the content network blog post as a presentation.

I started Grasshopper New Media in late July. More seeds. Met tons of new folks.

I coFounded PodCamp with Christopher S. Penn. More seeds.

I attended Video on the Net in Boston. Even more seeds.

Well, it’s autumn, folks. You know what happens in autumn.

–More to come.

It would help if I read a little more closely. Just can’t get PodCamp out of my mind.
