Product Reviews as Story

Homeland Security Toys I just saw a tweet by Vergal Evans about a Playmobil toy that shows kids the “fun” of getting through airport security. Big whoop. It’s a toy. But wow.. you’ve gotta go read the product comments. It’s funny. There’s something here, though. Right? I mean, those stories make me want to buy that toy. (Yes, I’m that impressionable.)

There’s something to this. No?

Okay, you piqued my curiosity even though I have no youngsters nor the prospect of any. I skipped to the “product reviews” and was rewarded with several belly laughs. Well worth the time!

This reminds me of a couple of different time we got together at start-ups…over a little beer…to populate demo accounts. Hilarity ensued, demos had a few quirks…but I love bringing a little good human interest into what can often be something pretty straightforward.

Love those reviews…and the point about the shoes is a good one :)

I don’t know how you find something like this, but the reviews are absolutely hilarious. I’m a little confused about what it costs so much, but the reviews make it seem like it is worth every penny.

    Thanks for a good laugh!

This were great comments. I am inspired to buy some Legos for my little cousins.
The Star Wars set. It teaches the fundamentals of respecting others space and time.
Not to mention the philosophical terminology that they will learn from the force and meditation.

The comments are hilarious! I often find that the comments on a product — on Amazon or elsewhere — is what really pushes me over the edge to buy it. They are honest, real as compared to the canned reviews.

I will always check the comments when we go out of town and need to stay at a hotel.

Some comments are a hoot like this one for a chain motel in my hometown of Paso Robles, CA:

“The room smelled like vomit and there was hair in the bed…..”
    and
“I’d rather sleep in a Greyhound bus station‎”

Don’t think I will recommend it to my friends.
