Review – 30 Year Old Canadian Club

March 20, 2009 · Comments

I am SO grateful to the folks from Shift PR for sending me a bottle of Canadian Club aged 30 years. Unbelievably tasty. Just incredible. I’ve been a freak for Canadian Club for the last several months since I got hooked by their ad campaign.

It’s delicious. It’s very smooth, with a caramel kind of feeling in your mouth, and it’s just downright amazing to drink. I usually have my whisky mixed with things, but you can’t mix a 30 year old liquor. It’s just not fair. Delicious. I guess it’s a limited time purchase, so rush out and get some if you like blended whisky. I sure love it. (No, I’m not getting paid to review this. I’m just a fan of it.)

Thanks also to Danny Brown for the cool shot glasses you see in this video review.

Extra special laughing for the fact that you hear my 3 year old playing PBS kids while I shoot this review at the kitchen table.

    Early birthday gift?
  • Chris, I'm a little late with this comment, but you should definitely try Lagavulin some time. It's a single-malt scotch from the Islay region of Scotland, and a damned fine drink.

    Cheers
  • Very, very nice. If you're into CC give Powers a try. It's a love it or hate it kind of Whiskey.

  • I'm so headed to the liquor store and picking myself up one. Love the taste of regular CC so can imagine what you're feeling - nice review!

Hmmm...I do love the CC and ginger. Although, I am still sad and disappointed that it now sells in a plastic bottle. The 30 y/o Canadian Club sounds yummy and it looks like they pull out all the stops...glass and wax...oooohh. :-)
  • Color me jealous, even tho I'm a Jameson's girl myself... still 30 y.o. anything should be fully appreciated! :)
  • Wow! I wish I could taste that drink too.. A 30-y.o drink.. Sounds interesting huh...
  • When it comes to Canadian whiskey my vote would have to go to Alberta Springs Sipping Whiskey. It used to sell in a wooden box with a sliding top ... similiar to the old style wooden pencil cases
  • Laughing. Loved that you could not decide if they were shot classes or candleholders. :) Enjoy your evening!

I once drank coffee that tasted like 30 y.o.
  • Chris, I am so glad to hear you enjoy a nice smoooooth whiskey like a 30 year old Canadian Club. YES!
  • One of life's rules is never drink anything older than yourself.
  • Just polished off a bottle of 18 year old Jameson's I got for Christmas ... amazing. May have to try this one next :)
  • A 30 year old drink. I think I would go for that instead of coffee.
  • They're definitely shot glasses - you think a Scotsman would send candle holders to a whiskey drinker?? ;-)

    Slainte, Chris - enjoy.
  • Yummy, indeed.

Father of the Year Award, Chris. j/k

I need to get some of that...
