Ruined My Daughter

My daughter just asked Kat to play a specific song again on the computer. We’re rocking out the holiday tunes already, but we have lots of alternate versions of holiday favorites. So, ahem, my daughter just asked:

“Mommy. Play more ‘We Wish You a Hairy Chest Wig.’”

For those of you not versed, this is the Ren & Stimpy song where they buy Mr. Husband a chest wig because he’s sad about his lack of manly chest hairs. Uh-huh.

She’s also requested “Bingo Balls,” a Newfoundland ditty that’s no longer Jingle Bells. And she’s kind of fond of the Muppets doing “Jingle Bell Rock,” but mostly because of Animal freaking out.

Ruined the kid. Yep. Age 2 1/2 and singing about chest wigs.

Great. Now – through no (real) fault of your own, I have that classic tune Log running through my head. Hmm.

You didn’t ruin her, you just set her expectations much higher than any other kid her age…
