Social Matters

I believe with all my heart that social experiences like mixers and hanging out with people in your space matters more than you can ever show on paper.

Hanging out with Steve Woolf and Zadi Diaz from Smashface (JETSET, more) was astoundingly good. We talked all around the space (would’ve made a great podcast), and I walked away with lots of good thoughts and questions to ponder.

Tonight at the LA event at Little Radio Warehouse, I look forward to more meaningful moments like last night.I feel the brilliant minds gathering will out-value anything I could ever think up on my own, and I look forward to the ‘soup.’

Sometimes, in the comment section of my blog feels like that, and I love that, too.

Can you feel me? :)

No matter how connected we all feel through video and online media experience, there is still no substitute for face time. I would urge anyone looking to create media projects online to be sure not to ignore that dimension of their lives.

Wish I could have been there tonight guys. And I agree, face to face interaction is unlike anything else. I hope to one day meet all of you face to face.

I always come away from events with inspiration on how to up my own game, a sense of having a new, larger family, and like we just dropped a boulder in the middle of the lake- the ripple effect may take some time to get to shore, but the waves get bigger and bigger as the ideas and connections spread outward.

Aye, face time will never be trumped by digital connection. It’s great that we can all share ideas in various media, but all of that needs to be seen for what it is: an impetus to cause all of us to come together IN PERSOn as often as possible.

Of course, most of us would never have even known we WANTED to talk to each other if not for the internet, so celebrate its ability to allow us all to first put our boats in the water.
