The Summer of Social Business

Summer of Social Business - Josh Fisher

I’m pleased to announce the Summer of Social Business: an opportunity to learn more about how social media and other digital marketing technologies will impact your business, brought to you in one of several formats. In essence, if you want me to speak for your business this summer, here are two really great ways to get that done (btw: if you want to come see me speak, but aren’t a business looking to hire me, we’ll be announcing a third Summer of Social Business project in a handful of days).

Summer of Social Business: The Webinars

Sponsored by GoToWebinar and Citrix Online

Hiring me to speak for a 1 hour webinar or live video is super easy! There are many slots available for this summer. Simply contact us, select “Summer of Social Business” on the form, and mention that you want more information on hiring me for a webinar. It’s the most cost effective way to hire me, and it gives you a great way to get some summer learning into your teams. What topics do I cover? Browse here for some examples.

Summer of Social Business: Group Sourced Pricing!

Sponsored by You

Okay, so I had this idea. My speeches in the US cost $22,000. Some companies don’t have that in the budget, and that’s okay. So now here’s the option: if you could get 2 other companies to book me on the same day, I will let you have me for $10K each (for a total of $30,000). Your company only has to foot $10,000, and you get the same value I charge someone $22,000 for, but only if you can find two other companies to sign up with you to sponsor me to speak at their organization. 3 companies = a savings of over 50% for your organization.

Here’s where and when that offer will apply (but realize that if YOU find 2 other people in some city not mentioned, I’m not averse to setting something up there, too):

Chicago – July 20th, 21st
New York City – July 26th, 27th
Orange County, CA – August 3rd, 4th

In each city, I’ll have 2 days available, and I’ll have morning and afternoon slots. If you’re interested in hiring me, the first step would be to contact us, select “Summer of Social Business” and mention that you’re looking to get involved with the Group Sourced Pricing project. Anne and the rest of the team will help you coordinate. But you’ll also want to start shaking the tree in your neighborhood to see who else wants to get in on it.

The advantage to having me there in person is that I can interact more with your company, I can share a bit more based on the reaction of the audience, and I can better gauge how people are taking in the information I’m sharing, so I can dive deeper or soften it up with more high-level info, as needed.

If you’re interested in the topics I cover, click here for a sample.

More Coming Soon

So, I’ve given you a way to hire me via webinar or group sourced pricing. The last leg, launching in a handful of days (once we finalize venues) are two destination events with four or five different ways to interact, starting with something very affordable and informative, and ending with a deep dive business consulting experience with the lofty goal of delivering much more value than one will pay for it. That’ll be announced shortly.

If you have any questions on the above, just drop us a line. We’ll gladly clear up any confusion and/or help you put together a project for your organization.

I’m looking forward to seeing you on the Summer of Social Business tour!

The group booking idea is a good one. It’s a win for the companies and for you. I can imagine this idea spreading.

Yeah it seems to be a good idea. I don’t think that I see every time offers laid out in this direct fashion.

I just shared with my son your fee of $22,000 a speech. My son quips, “Why don’t you make speeches?”  : )

Also, just wanted to give a big shout out to your graphic designer I’m guessing that’s Josh Fisher. (his name is in the alt text)  That’s an awesome graphic. Downright summery and nostalgic too.

    Great job.

A cool side benefit: it forces a company to ask “what other company do we consider a strong enough partner that they would jump in on this with us?”

A lot of companies tend to silo’d, or mistrusting of competitors, etc.

One last question and thing to consider: What if they went big and scaled up to like 10 companies? One of my business partners used to belong to SODA (society of digital agencies). At a conference, there could be up to 100 companies attending. Would you ever do a remote keynote?  :)

    • http://chrisbrogan.com Chris Brogan

      Totally true.

10 companies would be wild, but I’d have a rough time unless they were willing to share time frames. The 3 company plan was for solo events at their organization, if that makes sense.

    Chris Bropoun,

Thanks for these awesome opportunities.  I will pass these along to my boss.  I’m curious to know how much it is to be mentored by you:)  Is that fee higher?

      I’m 100% the person you’ll see at the event. It’s all me. : )

Chris — thanks for being so transparent regarding your fees, and with your group buying offer.  I hope you give us an update on whether your group offer (3 speeches for $10k each, rather than 1 for $22k) generates many takers.  I’ve mostly seen Groupon and LivingSocial focus on small dollar discounts, which merchants hope will lead to long-term customer relationships, and repeat customers even when the group discount no longer applies.  It seems like if you sell a premium speech using the group buying model, it could be breaking new ground, and I’ll be interested to see how it plays out….
