Superhero- Bre Pettis
Bre Pettis is a Superhero. Now, I know this innately, the way I know when I’m hungry. But I didn’t really have the best way to describe WHY until my wife, Katrina, told me.
“Bre is cool because he always encourages participation.”
The backstory is this: last night (way too late), Bre and I were talking about this and that. I mentioned his recent circuit bending episode, where he hacks a Speak n Spell. I basically was saying that it’s cool people can find things that might interest them, LIKE the circuit bending episode.
His FIRST response right back: I’ll send one to you in the mail so you can hack it yourself.
Can you imagine? The guy is a true catalyst and superhero. Oh, and a side note: Tim O’Reilly, you really get your money’s worth out of Bre. Thanks for making such a cool project happen through your organization. Keep supporting Senor Pettis.

Bre is the quintissential videoblogger, in my opinion. The stuff he does is consistently so damn good and so damn inventive. He really doesn’t get enough credit for the stuff he does. Glad to see you call him out, Chris. I’m going to start a series on my blog of shows that we should all be watching. Just did one on Josh Shipp from heyjosh.tv. Bre is well-known in the videoblogging community, of course, but this is a guy who *needs* a wider audience because the stuff is just so damn good.
