***Update I really love Brian Solis and all he does. He pointed out a few of his works that I would highly recommend these, as well:

  • The Essential Guide to Social Media
  • The Art and Science of Social Media and Community Relations
  • The Art of Listening and Engagement Through Social Media

Not sure if I’ll keep updating the post, but I figure Brian’s great works deserved attention. Feel free to keep adding your finds in the comments.

Free Pirates Dilemma Book

June 9, 2008

Matt Mason author of the Pirate's Dilemma Matt Mason, author of The Pirate’s Dilemma has worked it out with his publisher to release his book as a free download. There’s an option to pay him a few bucks (one of those from $0.00 to $3,999,410 kind of things). So, it’s up to you how you want to participate. I highly recommend the book. I got hooked on Matt thanks to Whitney Hoffman. Download your copy of his free book here.

Easter Givaway- 100 Grooveshark Invites

March 23, 2008

grooveshark Grooveshark is a new kind of music sharing site that promotes finding new music, sharing your favorites, and getting paid for some of it here and there. The site has all kinds of community hooks built into it and group sharing experiences, so it’s an interesting app to consider from the social aspect.

I was given 100 beta invites, and thought I’d make a community project out of giving them away to you. It will take about ten minutes of your time, and then you can have access to the private beta program. Interested?

Easter Egg Hunt

Here’s what you do: find a “hidden gem” blog, someone who you think is writing good stuff, but who has only one or two comments per post. Write a blog post telling us just a little bit about that site, why you like it, who should become a regular reader, etc.

Make sure there are TWO links in the post: one to that new site so we can find it, and one back to [chrisbrogan.com].

Email me ( blog [at] chrisbrogan [.] com) your blog post link, and I’ll send you the invite to Grooveshark.

Can it be YOUR blog that’s not getting any comments and attention? Sure! Same goal, basically. Finding the good stuff.

So there you have it. Want a free invite to a private beta of a cool site? Email me your blog post with two links and I’ll send you the invite shortly thereafter!

Happy Sunday (for those of you not celebrating Easter today).
