This does work. There were few clicks involved but nothing too serious.

I could totally identify with what you said. Happens to both my husband and me.

My husband is Jewish and it kind of reminds me of the ritual of the weekly Sabbath. It's really supposed to be as much of a purification and alignment process as much as it is "fun."

Since most of the rest of us don't get to have that as part of a weekly ritual, we don't have the vocabulary that would help us understand that vacation = letting go. Letting go = uncomfortable. Uncomfortable = Oh, I don't like these feelings that are coming up. Etc.

It's like the transition is necessary to get to the fun.

We also go through it at the end of a major creative project. For him that's putting on a play. For me that's a big article or book deadline.

It's great to have those somewhat adrenalin-spurred goals but when they have been realized, it can actually temporarily be a little depressing.

It always passes though. And downtime is an important part of the creative cycle. I've been thinking about it a lot lately.

Really like the audio update. The volume, as noted, was a bit low, but the clarity was crystal clear and there was zero static or ambient noise. Very cool indeed. Hope you are enjoying your much-deserved vacation. I am in NJ and the weather here has been glorious for the last few days, so hopefully the same where you are.
