The Chris Show at SXSW

March 31, 2008 · Comments

One afternoon at South by Southwest, Kris Smith recorded a podcast with me, Chris Heuer, with a brief walk-through visit by Chris Messina. Despite the fact that I’m a goofball repeatedly throughout the experience, there are some nuggets of goodness in there. Pop it open in another tab and listen while you’re working. Let me know if there are parts that were actually worthwhile. We had fun, at least.

ChrisBrogan.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

Thesis WordPress theme

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like ChrisBrogan.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

  • The Chris Conference! Yes, my favorite nuggets were at the beginning where one of the Chris's talk about the fragmentation of social media wearing on people. This fact actually inspired my blog post today -- because I'm seeing the pain from a social media marketing provider's perspective, first-hand. The fact is Ad agencies and PR firms are looking for help now more than ever. Their clients are saying, "what about social media?" Over the last few years, they have been saying "what about search?"... and this was an easier thing to address. But social media? Whew! This gets labor intensive. Hey Chris (Brogan), how is your schedule looking for meeting with new clients this month?
