The Fu Covers Twitter

October 9, 2008 · Comments

Zadi and team from EpicFu (a show MTV Networks should buy from Revision 3 some day) have a great episode on Twitter. Notice the pacing, the camera work, the tight edits, and the color correction they do in every little sequence. Looks like real TV, only with people I’ve met and hung out with.

Much love to Steve, Zadi, and the little EpicFu army that hangs with them.

  • Wow, that was an action-packed summary of twitter. They really did hit a lot of the good tools and basic info.

The one thing that I think they didn't cover is what the average person is really saying on twitter. I know this varies by quite a bit, but I think that's where much of the confusion comes in.

Of course, I think the best way to understand it is to follow a bunch of people for a bit. But that's not an option not everyone has time to entertain.
  • Thanks for the video Chris. I've been debating whether or not I should sign up for Twitter. After watching the video, I have a better understanding of it and how what it may do for a personal account, and then a business account. I still am not 100% convinced by the relevancy to it and usually stick with facebook status updates, but I will give it a shot and see what happens.

  • The production values there are daunting.
  • Thanks for the love, Chris! Btw, I'm trying out Tweetdeck based on your newsletter email this morning. ;) I love the group feature.

    Very cool:

    1) Twitter Local to find folks in your town.
    2) Twooble (not sure of the spelling) to find people in your social graph.

    Love the Epic Fu!

These show notes might be helpful to users if they want to check out individual twitter apps:

  • Fantastic information! Thanks! I've been using twitter for a little while and am still learning about all of the ways to use it, along with related applications. I'm going to recommend this video to some colleagues who are trying to use twitter, but are really struggling with understanding it.

At Nashville Startup Weekend someone mentioned Tweetdeck to follow the conversation around tags. Super cool! Super cool!

  • I love Myspace & YouTube, But a friend of mine went on Twitter...I think he made a mistake. It is really strange. I think I would rather stick to MySpace. It is more fun & less personal. Everyone needs privacy sometimes!
