I've been following Hildy's blog for the past couple months, because she's truly got her pulse on the big shifts that need to happen in the nonprofit world. I have yet to get my hands on a copy of this book (harder to accomplish from here in Thailand!), but I'm certainly looking forward to the in-depth perspective.

Being a "change the world" sort who uses social media, but who is not a techi by nature, I admit I came late to the Chris Brogan Fan Club (true confessions time!). It happened when I joined Twitter and started to get those wretched auto-DMs. Found your site and have been glued to it since. So having your review means much to me - best Mother's Day gift ever! :-)

On a similar note @Kenji_Onozawa @MattWoodget and I just finished a Seattle Social Media Profiles video and photo shoot where we name checked you as a leading example in Social Media for balancing Compassion and Commerce … not that you need the cred … but you do lead and teach well Chris.

This looks like something that perhaps Social Traffic can look into with regard to the social causes to be supported. Social Traffic is a BIG believer in saving the world and much effort has gone into, for example, Earth Day Birthday, which will be repeated each year. The idea there is engage ten people who will pledge to save $10 for their Earth Day Birthday donation AND to themselves engage ten people who will do EXACTLY the same thing. That is: Pledge to save $10, find ten more who'll do the same by pledging $10 and finding ten more who'll do the same. Given this type of matrix made up people known to religiously KEEP THEIR WORD, Social Traffic will be position to suggest charity for the pledge money to be contributed to and thus GIFT the EARTH with SIGNIFICANT financial contributions.
