Threadbare Normans Invade England
THIS is how history should be taught. This is an animation of the Bayeux Tapestry, which discusses the Norman invasion of 1066. Discovered via Wired’s interesting new Table of Malcontents blog.

Since I knew nothing of this, apart from 1066, Hastings and William, this was great. It was well done, it let me hear part of Carmina Burana, and it took me to the wikipedia discussion of the original tapestry and accompanying explanation. So I got as much of an overview as I needed in a short and interesting and self-directed way.
Thanks.
Hi Chris. Is it possible for me to download the file for the animated Bayeux Tapestry? My son’s studying this in history and I’d like them to show it in his class. Thanks.

I hope no animals were harmed in the animation of that tapestry.
