I think that in my position, starting from scratch, I might just go with Ning. I have discovered that many of my prospective group members are not on facebook. So, if I'm going to get them involved in a social network, it ought to be on the one I intend to use. This way, I would avoid any migration pains.

It just occurred to me that for a movement of sorts, Grasshoppers is probably better off with Ning because that site facilitates people spawning off local Grasshopper groups. Best of all, they would all be served with one login.

Hey Chris,

Thanks a bunch for the link. I hope Grasshoppers goes really well for everyone involved. It looks like you're all settling in nicely over at Ning.

Best of luck!

I like your idea of the grasshoppers. It's easy to help others & if it's done collectively, then it makes sense.

FB may be a place for networking, but I'm not sure that it's ideal as a social network. Today when I was over at Grasshoppers I was thinking that you can maybe start setting up categories for the forum threads. That was a huge improvement at Ning & just a thought, but you may want to do it so that people can grow into it?

Good luck,
Connie
