Track Live Band Gigs with ShowClix

February 27, 2007

One of the LindseysAlright, Lynsie here has started a new gig called ShowClix, where she’s offering tons of info on all the live bands and their gigs. She and Josh have launched their site, and now are looking for thoughts and opinions.

As I have a few band friends in Uncle Seth and +Nurse (currently staying active with my blog), I thought I’d have you and others go over there, take a look around, and give Lynsie feedback.

Here’s the site. Let her know, and be nice. She’s a friend from PodCamp Pittsburgh.

What’s the difference between it and Upcoming.org?

Comment by Lynsie on February 28, 2007 @ 10:00 am

Hey Bryan,

There are two big differences between ShowClix and Upcoming.org:

1. ShowClix is focused solely on live music.
2. Bands and venues that list shows on the site can sell tickets through us as well.

Hope this helps!
Lynsie

Hi Lynsie, a bug for you to fix:

I’ll bet you you haven’t seen too many Canadian bands sign up. There’s a really good reason for that: ShowClix won’t let us.

When we try to register, we can change the country and the state(province), however, it INSISTS on a numeric ZIPCODE. Canada has POSTAL CODES, and they combine letters and numbers. If I try to type ina zip code (say 12045 or any random number), it resets most of the form and tells me “Nice try sucker”.

Thanks for the clarification, Lynsie! I’ll add my band on there fairly soon, because I have a feeling we’re going to start booking shows again.

And yes, you do look cute. :)

Hey brokenengine,

Thanks for the heads up on the bug. We knew it was a problem when we launched and are working on a fix. We wanted to get the site live to test the waters and get some feedback.

If you don’t mind, can you email me you contact info and I’ll drop you an email when it’s fixed: lynsie@showclix.com.
