Trust Agents- How You Can Help

June 24, 2009 · Comments

Here’s a quick video with an idea on how you can help Julien and I get the word out about Trust Agents. We’ll come up with much more fun and mutually beneficial ways in the coming weeks. This was just an idea I had.

ChrisBrogan.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

Thesis WordPress theme

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like ChrisBrogan.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

  • I'm teaching a class on Social Networking for authors at a Writer's Center over the next few weeks, and we will make Trust Agents a central part of discussion. Why? Because any author who is told "You make a Facebook group, and you tweet stuff to promote your work" without understanding the fundamental conversation is just wasting their time. When you're part of the neighborhood, people care if you need a barn raising. Otherwise, not so much. Thanks for sparking a conversation.
  • Glad to help. We are most definitely trying to share all that we've come up with in our journey so far. As we're first time authors, we have NO idea what's going to work or not with promotion, and honestly, there's no easy way to know whether a video helps, or whether the Facebook page did better than the email blast, but we'll see.
  • Who should read hyour book? Should we start with Big Banking and work our way down from there?

Seriously - I just saw 'The Smartest Men in the Room' for the second time last weekend - about the debacle of Enron. I think Harvard Business School should make books like yours mandatory reading. But perhaps we should start with simple kingergarten playground ethics.

Your book is timely precisely because TRUST is such a dwindling commodity these days. Look forward to the read. I will be buying it at Village Books (an Indie) in Bellingham, WA.
  • You're not wrong, about who should read it. It's definitely a time for people to better understand trust. This is heavily focused on the web and how humans interact. I think it will overlap those kinds of issues, for sure.
  • Good video. Well done. Well cut.
  • I put the word out on twitter & facebook.

It's obvious you know how to leverage bit.ly. Cool!
