Twitter Hooks Me Into Louis Gray

February 28, 2008

Celtics2Louis Gray tweeted that he was coming to Boston. I ask him why, because I’m nosy, and hey, this is my town. : ) From this, he learns what I do for a day job (VP of Strategy and Technology at CrossTech Media, and then he and I get together to talk geeky things for a bit. He also introduces me to a few really great guys who I might have some future business with now.

Oh, but did I mention he takes me and some other guys to a Celtics / Cavs game? In a box. With like…steak and salad and buffalo wings and um… cheesecake and cookies and beers and whatever.

Oh, and by the way, Louis is really cool, downplays his rockstarness (he’s Mark “Rizzn” Hopkins’ favorite blogger), and he made me join FriendFeed last night, swearing that it’s the coolest thing in the world.

Twitter = score!

If there is a better case study for the power of Twitter I have NOT found it! ;)

I just wonder how in the world you’ll manage the flow in FriendFeed because you’ve shoveled a boatload of contacts into your feed mix from the first go.

Further proof that the folks on Twitter are some of the coolest out there. Twitter FTW!

Awesome. But I don’t think it just applies to twitter. It can be any of our online social media tools these days. Heck, it’s why companies like WhyGoSolo will do well, connecting people who otherwise never would’ve met. It truly makes our big world not smaller but closer and more personal.

Thanks for sharing such a cool example of how the line between our virtual world and real world has begun to blur. Eventually, there will be no separation of online/offline experiences. Just look at the increasing numbers of meetups and get togethers all over the world.

Please don’t tell me you were on twitter at the game.

[…] an article about how Twitter hooked him up with a cool contact in Boston who actually took him to Celtics game, in a box with food and everything. […]
