Venue Needed in Boston Area

June 27, 2006 · Comments

I’m just reaching out in all venues, in case something clicks. I’m looking for a venue in the Boston Area for our Podcamp event. Details are at Podcamp.org, but basically, we need to house 200 people, with 4 or 5 conference rooms, internet access is a big plus, etc. Any one have any contacts in this area or any leads as to where I can find a venue like this for free or cheap? Please email me or comment.

ChrisBrogan.com runs on the Thesis Theme for WordPress

Thesis WordPress theme

Thesis is the search engine optimized WordPress theme of choice for serious online publishers. If you’re a blogger who doesn’t understand a lot of PHP, Thesis will give a ton of functionality without having to alter any code. For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via Thesis hooks.

With so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site. The theme is robust and flexible enough not only to accommodate a site like ChrisBrogan.com, but also to enable the site to run far more efficiently than it ever has before.

Chris- My advice is to look at some of the larger technology companies in the greater Boston area and see if their office space might work for you. They could come on as a major sponsor of the event in exchange for the free space and internet use. I am thinking of the offices in the Waltham area along 128. I would also consider the hotels in that area. Perhaps, if you can demonstrate a significant # of hotel bookings, they would be willing to give you conference space for reduced rates. Good Luck.
  • Unfortunately, trying to book an event in Boston is painfully difficult. The one place that will accommodate this type of event (Hynes Convention Center) is booked well in advance. I actually had a friend who was an event planner in Boston and she completely quit the business due to lack of places to hold events like this.
