Visiting HQ

So I flew Jet Blue today to head over the Pulver headquarters. I met up with the brains behind last year’s Video On the Net (or some of them). We had a great presentation by Jeff, then another superb view of the landscape given to us by an industry veteran. Then, we broke for lunch, with me coming up after lunch to give folks the perspective of what the PodCampers felt when leaving PodCamp and attending Video On the Net.

I got to meet David Kowarsky who produces FOCUS, a Pulver.tv production. Its a great show, and I liked talking with David. I think Justin and Steve would’ve enjoyed talking with him and picking his brain. What I was happiest about was that David was very welcoming to me as someone contributin to the Pulver content creation team. I worried that I’d be look at as a hack, or at the very last, unwelcome. Silly me.

I worked with Jeff on some promos for Video On the Net Spring (March 20-22 in San Jose). We also are just about to unveil some meetups that will be superfun, as well. Those will be just to go out and meet the videobloggers and talk new media. More on this as I move along.

Jeff and I shot video promos in Pulver Studios, and I forgot to mention meeting the guys who do pulverradio. Holy cow! He has so many toys. And then, I interviewed a guy for an upcoming show. Making content! Yayyyyyy.

And then, Jeff took me to the Mets.

Holy COW! I’m from New England. I’ve gone to about 11 Red Sox games in my life. But this was SO COOL! This was a playoffs game, so the stadium was absolutely packed. Shea’s bigger than Fenway (what isn’t?), and folks were really energetic and friendly.

I got to meet Jeff’s sons and we talked about music (they have great taste, and I’m clearly old), Yu-gi-oh! , and some other stuff. They were really great and engaging, and I found myself fortunate to hang out with Jeff’s family that way, as well as hanging out with his favorite ball team (at a distance, that is).

I am sitting in the hotel here, wishing I had a cell phone (I’m between phones) to call my wife. I just want to reach her and talk with her, and hear what she has on her mind, how the rest of the night went, etc.

Tomorrow, I fly back after lunch… or rather, I drive the rental car back to the airport, and hope for some lunch, and then I hop a plane back to Boston to head up to my going away party from the old gig.

I’m living a fairy tale. What more can I say?

Or … you know… calling collect? That expression just sounds so quaint now.

You’re living large, my friend. Make the most of it!

Thanks for the respect, much appreciated, and it was a blast meeting you as well. I’m looking forward to our upcoming collaborations. (and sorry I’m getting to this so late. I am a tad out of the blogging scene aside from the personal realm of LJ. Something I’ll have to fix. Sadly my general use handle is already taken at blogspot.)

One brief N.B. though : My name is Lithuanian, not Polish, so it’s Y, not I on the end.
