Want a New Taste in Food Blogs- Try BrokeAss Gourmet

February 9, 2009 · Comments

corks My friend, Adam Metz, just launched BrokeAss Gourmet, with other authors Gabi Moskowitz and the ever-engaging Violet Blue. The site seeks to be the place to go for inexpensive dining ideas, as well as recipe hacks, and other tips that might help you get from the kitchen the bedroom, if done right.

I shot a quick video and got Gabi Moskowitz’s take as well. Here’s the quick video review:

The site just launched, and the blog posts are already pretty good. I especially liked The $50 Pantry post for a neat idea.

So, check out BrokeAss Gourmet and please pass it on to your friends who might be trying to save a buck or two in the current economy.

What’s your take? Food, wine, and sex? Good mix for a blog?

It all makes perfect sex...I mean sense. I have a strong feeling that without food, wine and sex I would not be alive today.
3 essentials for life. Great concept.
    Thanks for the heads-up Chris
  • The guiding principles of this blog remind me of a garage band hit song that you would only know if you grew up in Cincinnati, OH...Music, Sex and Cookies. http://www.themadmusicarchive.com/song_details.... Perhaps that would make a good theme song for BrokeAss Gourmet
  • Food, wine and sex? OMG. A restaurant version of the Triple Crown races!!
Did you ever see my favorite cookbook [really]? Intercourses - http://www.intercourses.com/media.htm

  • A triple threat to battle a tough economic time. Sounds like a great way to pass the time
waiting for the government bailouts to trickle down, to those of us who are footing the bill
Thanks to the BrokeAssGourmet for keeping the bill small

  • Hi,

Thanks for the heads up on the new website. I chekced it out and although I like the concept, I wasn't too crazy about the photos they used for the recipes.
They didn't inspire the inner cook in me to come out--in fact, it hid deeper in the closet, just like Tom Cruise.

But I will return to both your blog and their for update.

    Keep up the good work!

classic Chris. who doesn't want that triad of fun.
  • Nice. As someone else who recently started up a food blog, I'll be watching this one.
  • This looks like a great site. Thanks for passing it along. It's been interesting to see, in general, how the economic downturn seems to give us MORE to think about and write about. When we're faced with challenges, we tend to rise to the occasion with creativity and ingenuity -- in our lives and our writing.
