What the hell’s up with Ze Frank? In today’s episode of The Show
, Ze goes after Rocketboom. He does it in a joking way, but it’s clear that he’s upset.
From my perspective, it’s a shitty time to be going after each other in the video world. I’m not going Rodney King on you or anything, but truly, when the industry is so nascent, and where the only bucks we’re likely to get are from sponsors who are twitchy about the details, why take on Rocketboom publically in a way that suggests you’re upset about the deals you’re getting or not getting from sponsors?
I’m not directly inside on this, but I can’t imagine Andrew’s out there throwing rocks at other videobloggers (or pick your name). Why should he? Are there really conversations going on out there where any of us are having to defend our ad opportunities by throwing other shows under the bus? Are we now in a gladiator economy?
I know it’s election time, but do we have to emulate Democrat meltdowns within our tiny little community?
Stats are a complex matter at best. I know. I’m working with my colleague on a panel discussion of that for Video On the Net for March in San Jose. Have you ever heard Larry Gerbrandt from Neilson talk about this? It’s not black and white.
But in the mean time, can’t we just get along, Ze? Do I have to buy some duckies?
